A little fairwell…

29 07 2008

I don’t know why but putting pictures in blogs these days is the cool thing to do.  Pictures I guess just say so many unspoken words that seems to capture and intrigue viewers.  But any who.  It’s another late night and the wife is off in la la land.  I’m enjoying my last week of freedom this summer before I have to start work back up.  It has been nice to have these past two months off with the wedding and all and being able to get situated out here with Ruth.  Probably wouldn’t of been too good for Ruth if we had moved out here and then I started work right away.  It’s nice to be able to help get the apartment ready with her and help get her acclimated to Phoenix before I head back into the office.  Thankfully though she can stop by and visit me in the office anytime she wants.  It is definitely a plus to living on campus.  But life has been going good.  Besides being susie homemaker I’ve been playing my guitar a lot and listening to some of my new johnny cash cd’s.  Trying to sell my jeep so that I can make some extra cash for the wife and me.  Actually, if I sell the jeep I can buy myself a new computer ; ) but we’ll see.  It is sad that I am getting rid of the jeep.  This bad boy has many good memories.  Cruising up in Big Bear with Ally and the Playa and the rest of the Pine Summit crew, Ronnie and I driving to CBU’s chapel at Mag and watching him almost fall out on a quick u turn because there was no doors on it at the time, watching Ronnie throw money at Tyler Watts at the Kiosk, throwing coins at people and blowing the ho-train whistle (all of these with Ronnie that is), changing tires on the freeway, the smell of cat urine on the back seat, Sarah Gonzales hitting her head so hard on the bar above after going over a speed bump 30 mph and giving her a slight concussion, having my lights cut off on the dark roads up to big bear for no reason, driving back up to big bear with steven in the sleet and snow during spring break with the top off.  Man, a lot of good memories in this bad boy.  This was my first vehicle ever.  But it will be good to get it off my hands.   So fairwell green broke down jeep.  May you bring joy to a new driver someday soon!

Welcome Home!

26 07 2008

Nothing beats the warm summer evenings out in Arizona! I was made for this desert heat.

Currently I’m sitting outside my balcony watching the lightening bolts light up the sky and listen to the ear piercing thunder. I love it!

It’s been almost a month and I feel like Arizona is finally becoming home to me.

We arrived in Arizona July 2nd to an apartment beautifully decorated.

Thank you Tiffany and Jenni!

Thank you Ronni and Shannon!

We managed to make our way through our lovely apartment, making a short pathway through

all the gifts . . .

To only only find the apartment decorated but the guys made James’ day by filling the entire fridge with Mt. Dew.

After 3 hours of opening gifts, we thought we were done. To our surprise, there was over 15 boxes in the post to pick up.

James and I are slowly but surely making our apartment look like home. We set up our new bed frame from Ikea and have gotten everything put away.

It’s surreal to me that I won’t be calling California home anymore, but I love it here and the people are absolutely wonderful.

Not to mention, I love living with the man of my dreams!!!!

So it is Tuesday night and I thought I would write down a few things to give everyone an update of whats been going on out here in the hot desert.  Unfortunately nothing too exciting has been going on.  It is so hot out here that there is not much to do.  This past weekend though for Ruth and I was a lot of fun.  Our good friends Toni and Adrian came out to visit us.  Our first visitors as a married couple!  We had a lot of fun with them.  We went to a D-Backs game on Saturday and also watched Batman, The Dark Knight.  So it was fun.

Other than that not too much has been going on.  Got to go play some golf today with some of the boys.  Matney, Lambert and Clayton.  Shot pretty well with my new clubs that the guys got me for the wedding.  I think Matney beat us all but who’s keepin score ya know.

Right now the wife is making some frozen yogurt, her favorite!  She has been doin a good job cooking for the two of us which is no easy task.  But it has been fun figuring things out and has been weird eating home cooked meals.  It is hard to believe that we have been married for a full month already.  Time seems to be flying by and we aren’t even that busy.  I am sure once August hits that things are going to start flying by extremely quick.

I’m excited for the future though and to see what God has for us this next year.  We have already been blessed beyond belief so it should be a good year.  So until next time… PEACE!
