The Death of my Bread :(

4 03 2009

This morning I woke up with the urge to make home made bread… You know, the kind that makes the whole house smell so amazing that it wakes people up. I searched through every website imaginable and shifted through every cupboard, trying to find a recipe that would match the ingredients I had on hand (cuz I was too lazy to go to the grocery store). Throughout my search I would get so excited to find a yummy recipe, just to get shot down when I didn’t have the most important ingredient. After a long hard search, I found the perfect recipe…Sweet Hawaiian Bread. I set my computer up in the kitchen and got to work on adding all the ingredients, making sure that I got it just right. I set up the bread machine and pressed start as I watched the bread begin to knead. About an hour and a half into the process I look over to see this…

The dough was over flowing from the machine with the lid popped open. I got all the ingredients right… I just added way too much of everything. Who would have thought to check the capacity of the bread machine? So, in my attempt to save the bread I scooped out the over flowing dough and shut the top. I threw the rest of the dough into a pan and into the oven. Needless to say, this is what the ending result of my bread was…

I could be very bias to say this, but I thought it tasted rather well, despite the tragic event it had to go through. For now though, I think the Roger Family will be sticking to store bought bread.
